Meeting of the MAGI

Model Agreements & Guidelines International (MAGI) has made it its mission to streamline clinical research by standardizing best practices for clinical operations, business and regulatory compliance. A voluntary organization, MAGI has over 10,000 members. MAGI, whose motto is "We can agree to save lives," offers free, no obligation memberships to individuals. Having become one of clinical research's fastest growing conferences, MAGI is a great learning and networking opportunity for veterans and those new to the field.
MAGI holds two conferences a year, with a spring event for the eastern United States, and a fall event for the west. This year's spring event will be in Philadelphia, Pennsylvania at the Loews Hotel, May 4-7, 2014.
EmpiriStat, Inc. is proud to once again offer its support and contributions to this vibrant group of clinical research professionals, sharing wide-ranging expertise to veterans and newcomers alike.
Dr. Nicole C. Close, EmpiriStat's President, has been invited back again as a featured speaker. On Tuesday, May 6th, Dr. Close will be part of the track on Risk-Based & Centralized Site Monitoring: Implementation "How to put theory into practice."
For past MAGI conferences, Dr. Close has presented her popular workshop, “Biostatistics for Mere Mortals.” The session, which was designed to guide the attendee through concepts like hypotheses, endpoints, sample size, study design, power, randomization, significance common statistical tests, and data presentation, left attendees with the ability to talk intelligently with biostatisticians about the statistical concepts that underlie most clinical trials, including adaptive and quality-of-life trials. In the past, Dr. Close has also chaired a session on “Clinical Trial Agreements” and taught a session on “Developing and Interpreting Metrics for Site Report Cards,” which were designed to evaluate and motivate research sites. Dr. Close’s vibrant, interactive training methods have been so effective that she earned the coveted "Excellent Speaker" star award, as voted on by past participants at MAGI conferences.
