EmpiriStat: Voted Best Place to Work in Frederick County

EmpiriStat, Inc., one of the region’s preeminent and most technologically-advanced clinical research organizations, was recognized on October 18, 2011 by the Frederick County (Maryland) Economic/Development Council as one of the 2011 Best Places to Work, easily winning in the Small Business Category. This year’s awards ceremony was held at the Delaplaine Visual Arts Center in Frederick.

The annual Best Places to Work in Frederick County campaign, now in its ninth year, is a partnership between the Frederick County Office of Economic Development, the City of Frederick Department of Economic Development, the Frederick County Chamber of Commerce, and Frederick County Workforce Services. Every year, each business in Frederick County is invited to take the survey to identify what they think makes them the best place to work. Employees are encouraged to log onto Facebook to take the survey and explain why they love where they work. Winners are identified based on the following criteria:

  • an enhanced workplace culture
  • a strong professional development program
  • benefits and amenities to provide a work and life balance
  • the encouragement of community and social responsibilities
  • and tools for healthy living

The fact that EmpiriStat excels in each of these categories is not news to EmpiriStat’s staff, or to EmpiriStat’s ever-expanding list of clients and corporate partners. Employees appreciate a vibrant, efficient work environment that encourages a healthy balance between the professional and the personal.

EmpiriStat’s community outreach activities, keystones of the company’s philosophy, are well known in the region, from sponsorship of and participation in the “Go for the Green Play for Pink” golf tournament to benefit breast cancer research, to participation in “Operation Happy Holidays” which assists local military families in need of help for clothing, food, and gifts for the holidays, EmpiriStat is always looking for ways to give back.

Never one to rest on past accomplishments, EmpiriStat’s founder and president Dr. Nicole C. Close insists there is much more to come.
